It reads your drawings into a parts list.
Square Away reads a cut list, a designer's drawings or a photo of a sketch into a parts list with sizes, counts and stock, and only the parts you check go on the estimate.
Upload a cut list, a designer's drawings or a photo of a sketch. It reads every part, with its size, count and the stock it's cut from, so you don't retype them. You check each one, and only what you tick goes on the estimate.

From a drawing to boards on the estimate.

Pick the read
Parts already listed for a real cut list. Drawings or a sketch for everything else.
Check every part
Each part shows its size, count, stock and where the size came from. Tick it once it matches.
Estimate or cut plan
Ticked parts add up to the boards and sheets for the estimate, or go straight to the cut planner.
A cut list is easy to read. A designer's drawing isn't.
Parts already listed is the quick read, under a minute, for a cut list or cut sheet with the parts on it. Drawings or a sketch is the careful read, 2 to 3 minutes, for hand drawings, a designer's set, CAD elevations or a photo of a sketch.

It does 90% of the work. The last 10% is yours.
Before a careful read starts, it tells you the cost and the time, and asks you to tick one box: you'll confirm every part. Then it reads, and every part comes back unticked until you've checked it against the drawing.
- It says where each size came from. Sized on the drawing, worked out from other sizes, or guessed.
- Every part is editable. Size, count and stock, before anything is priced.
- The drawing stays a tap away. View drawing puts it right next to the parts on a computer.

A read is a read, not gospel.
Only the parts you tick count toward the boards and sheets on the estimate. A wrong size never slips in on its own.
Any size it worked out or guessed gets a "Check this" tag, so you know where to look first.
A careful read uses 20 credits, only when it comes back with parts. A failed read costs nothing, and the quick read uses no credits.
Drawing reads run on a computer, where you can check every part properly. On your phone, save the drawing to the job and read it later.

Send us a cut list or a set of drawings from a job you're quoting. We'll read it on your account and check the parts together.
